@GJC: Thanks for your visit and comment GJC ... it is always a pleasure to hear from you ... ron john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesYou want her to keep that precious look forever (or at least as long as possible). 25 Apr 2009 2:19pm Zachary from Singapore, SingaporeI love the composition! It's quite hard to maintain the impact when the person is looking away from the lens, but you pulled it off :P the picture looks a little blurry though :P I'd suggest a smaller F-stop, say 5.6 or so, and up the shutter speed to remove the blur :P 25 Apr 2009 2:58pm @Zachary: Thanks for your visit and constructive advice, Zachary ... you are right -- the focus is not sharp, but I loved the light so much I thought I'd process and post it anyway ... ron @Dana: Thanks Dana ... taken in the Enright entrance at UA ... a place with which you're very familiar ... ron Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaSo beautiful in a discrete, respectful way...outstanding light and portrait 25 Apr 2009 5:38pm Jason Kravitz from Brussels, Belgiuma beautiful candid photo with great light - it does appear to be a bit soft (maybe due to the slow shutter) but a really nice expression. How do you like the 5D MKII ? I am tempted :) 25 Apr 2009 5:52pm @Jason Kravitz: I love the 5D MkII, Jason ... and I haven't even tried the video function out yet! I think I need to micro-adjust my lenses to the 5D (as I'm getting a little fore and aft focusing), but it's nice to be able to fine-tune like that. The full frame sensor really provides incredible color and you have the flexibility to work with three different raw file sizes. I had been thinking about it since before Christmas and I finally took the big step ... I don't think you'll regret it. This portrait was cropped out of a much larger image of three girls posing (as a group) for an after-school art project. I've taken their photo and then they're painting the photo (which is mounted on foam-core) to match a "master's" painting being exhibited at the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts Gallery. When finished, the kids' works will be displayed on easels beside the originals in the Gallery ... they're pretty excited. observing from North West, United KingdomA sweet portrait, again with that lovely light. 25 Apr 2009 10:46pm jim from sebastopol, United Stateswell, it may be a little soft.. but i have to say "so ?" it is a very beautiful portrait and the softness adds so much to it. it might be less appealing if it were tack sharp. jim 26 Apr 2009 1:57am Estrella from Barcelona, SpainBeautiful portrait. Probably I would cut a bit for the right but you are the author. In fact. she will be a beautiful woman. Congrats! 26 Apr 2009 9:13am Lesley from Lincoln, United StatesBeautiful portrait of a beautiful young girl. Very, very nice. 28 Apr 2009 9:29pm |
