Colors of Santa Fe viii

Posted by Ron (Saint Louis, United States) on 8 October 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio.

The New Mexico Museum of Art, built in 1917, set the standard for Pueblo/Spanish Revival style architecture. Here it is silhouetted by the first light of day.

This series was shot in Santa Fe, New Mexico – the oldest capital city in the United States (settled in 1610). Santa Fe is home to a diverse mix of cultures, including Native-, Hispanic-, and Anglo-Americans. It sits nestled among the Sangre de Cristo mountains at about 7000 feet (2134 meters) above sea level. Everywhere you turn in Santa Fe you notice a beautiful, rich color palette.
