Carmen (Sarah Lambert) meets her tragic end at the hands of her former lover, Don Jose (Robert Zimmerman), in the Union Avenue Opera production of Bizet's Carmen.

Such a dramatic and moving image Ron, fantastic! I gather you were using your 70-200mm lens for this, looks like it is a a great lens, you have a wonderful image here. Hope you are enjoying your long weekend! Have fun, hope you get some time for shooting in ;o)

Nice series of images? (Is the union Avenue opera something fairly new to St Louis or was I just ignorant in my twenty years there? I left for California in 2004. ) These would be excellent promtional photos, they have a professional touch.

@MontereyJohn: Thanks for the kind words, John. Tonight is the final performance (Carmen) of Union Avenue Opera's 14th season. Unlike Opera Theatre of St. Louis, which performs all operas in English, UAO performs all operas in the original language.

Great shots... I'm impressed with the lack of grain with the ISO at 1000 ... usually you get some once you're over 800... Nice work!

@Rob: Thanks Rob ... I'm pleased with the way these theatrical images came out at such high ISO ... there is some noise in the shadows - you see it when they're full size, but it's not bad.
