Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaA colorful and interesting picture. Architectural ruins. Now you have to tell us what this is. My curiousity is peaked. 11 Aug 2008 6:35am @Marion: This is a pic of the base of this fountain. Built in 1867 from the ruins of the Lindell Hotel, which stood in another part of the city. Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyThis isn't real ruins, is it? This looks like shot in some theme park when they wanted to use the mystery of old ruins for some pirate scene... Am I close? 11 Aug 2008 8:47am @Mirko Herzner: Ruins ... just not ancient ruins ... used to create this fountain in 1867 from the remains of the old Lindell Hotel (which stood in another part of St. Louis). The pond in which this fountain stands was designed to accommodate model sailboats. Tower Grove Park is a 289 acre "Victorian" park that contains more than 8,000 trees and shrubs that Henry Shaw had imported from all over the world. @Betty: This is a pic of the base of this fountain. Kylie Greenan from Richmond, AustraliaA lovely capgture Ron, beautiful colours! 11 Aug 2008 12:18pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaFantastic shot, the reflection is awesome as is the water splashing in the top right. 11 Aug 2008 3:33pm Lorraine from Canadaand your photo makes it art, it's so beautiful with shapes, patterns and colours that are delightful and the green reflection in the water is super :) 11 Aug 2008 3:59pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomThey made something useful & interesting, good one Ron. 11 Aug 2008 9:28pm danthro from Suburbia, United Statesinteresting piece. it's like a sculpture of ruins. any of those pieces in it by itself would probably seem dignified on its own, even though broken, but together like that, they're just ruins 12 Aug 2008 1:30am Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United Statesgreat textures...beautiful reflection. 12 Aug 2008 3:12pm |
