Expertly done, Ron. 15 Jul 2008 6:13am dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Statesgreat reflection -- almost surreal! beautiful lighting and colors! 15 Jul 2008 7:43am Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanTo me the reflection looks better than the flower itself! 15 Jul 2008 7:48am Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyWhat a great nature shot, again. I would have maybe cut a little bit more at the right side. 15 Jul 2008 9:09am @Mirko Herzner: You know, I think you're right. After I posted the image and looked at it framed on the page, here, I thought the same thing ... I definitely could have cropped away some of the leaf to balance the overall image a bit more effectively. OlivierT suggested the same thing for the "Water lily i" image I posted day before yesterday ... it makes sense in that instance, as well. Thanks, Mirko, for the constructive advice ... I appreciate it. Wham!!! Right out of the Park! Excellent. 15 Jul 2008 4:25pm Chris from South Jersey, United StatesBeautiful - I love the reflection in the water.... 15 Jul 2008 5:03pm Marcie from United StatesDon't think I"ve ever seen a waterlily that stands so high above the water. It's a beauty. Love how you've included the lily leaf to balance the lily itself. Lovely. 15 Jul 2008 5:12pm Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaYour pictures are as always just jawdropping, quite literally jawdroppingly beautiful. The reflection on this is just amazing. Wonderful picture dear Ron. 15 Jul 2008 7:19pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaReflection is just awesome, a wonderful shot. 15 Jul 2008 7:41pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomWonderful light from within the Lily. The reflection is superb! 15 Jul 2008 10:13pm akarui from Kagoshima, JapanThe mirror is perfect with nearly no ripples on the reflections. Excellent contrast. 16 Jul 2008 12:37am Tracey from White Hall, United StatesWhat a perfect reflection image. It is quite beautiful. 16 Jul 2008 12:44am danthro from Suburbia, United Statesbeautiful reflections and soft colors. so peaceful-looking! love it. i can't say i'm surprised to hear you use a modified Orton method (now that I know what that refers to ;)). there are so many other things one can do in processing before and after "Gaussian blur > multiply" that can make all kinds of cool images. i think that and shadow/highlights are my two favorite tricks, unless selective color counts as a trick. :) 16 Jul 2008 12:44am amy from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaI like the balance the right gives to this image. That reflection is out of this world amazing. Outstanding, Ron!! 16 Jul 2008 5:10am sophie from paris, FranceThose lilly pictures are quite something. What a great reflection.... 16 Jul 2008 12:38pm Kyle from Manhattan, United Statesgorgeous. i particularly love the reflection and how clear it is, and the amorphous lilly pad to the right is intriguing. 16 Jul 2008 9:50pm Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesI agree that the leaf is distracting, but this is still beautiful. Gorgeous. 18 Jul 2008 9:16pm |
