Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaLovely, Ron. The flower has a delicate surreal look. Wonderful work and I like the color! 11 Jul 2008 5:14am Steve from Camdenton, United StatesA very nice subdued look. The f/2.8 really makes the dof fall away nicely. 11 Jul 2008 5:21am zOOm from Paris, FranceThat's so delicate. As there's no light, there's truly a special atmospehre... That green is splendid. Bravo, Ron ! 11 Jul 2008 5:28am Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesRon - this really is exceptional. A beautiful image. 11 Jul 2008 5:29am Mirko Herzner from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyThis is a really good work! The play with focus works well. Reminds me of a painting I saw in some museum... 11 Jul 2008 7:06am MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomJust superb Ron, the green is so cool and gentle, combined with the lighting and the shapes of the petals/leaves make this one beautiful image. 11 Jul 2008 10:32am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomAn unobtrusive image portraying a simple plant shrouded in a gentle blur. Good work Ron. 11 Jul 2008 11:30am Tracey from White Hall, United StatesThe softness( lighting and color, not focus) of the image paired with the detail of the plant is just amazing. It should be in a gallery. 11 Jul 2008 12:18pm Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesThis is EXQUISITE! The way the light gently drapes the edges...and those shadows...BRAVO! Brilliant job, Ron! I know I've said it a lot lately, but this is fantastic work! You should be very proud. :) 11 Jul 2008 2:42pm Pavla from Saint James City, United Statesoh the color and softness is wonderful! 11 Jul 2008 6:57pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaAbsolutely stunning, this is just incredible, well done. 11 Jul 2008 7:28pm Jonathan Alan Photography from St. Louis, United Statesvery soft great blur, love the darkness of it makes it seem much more mysterious 11 Jul 2008 7:59pm Still from FranceThaks for your visit and kind comment on Still Mood. 11 Jul 2008 8:52pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomTerrific and very different, I love it, inspirational work Ron. 11 Jul 2008 8:56pm danthro from Suburbia, United Statesthis is just incredibly beautiful, Ron, has a soothing look to it too -- love it! 11 Jul 2008 9:31pm pedro alexandre from loures, Portugalvery beatiful, the soft light, the soft tones, just wonderful image. 11 Jul 2008 9:47pm lissa from New York, United StatesI think this my most favorite of your flower shot but then again I might just say that again if you come up with another great one. I do like all your flower shots. There's just something about flowers that just makes a great subject. I like the delicate softness here, brings out the edges quite nicely, and the black background is a great choice your camera detail on the right says it's shot with a Canon 40D but in your caption you say Canon 500D, I am not familiar with the either camera but I think one is suppose to be superior camera than the other. I'm wondering if you would have capture the shot the same way if you're using the 500D rather the 40D, just wondering 11 Jul 2008 11:32pm @lissa: Thanks, lissa, for the kind words. I always appreciate your comments and insight. The camera is a Canon 40D and I used a 500D close-up lens - you screw the close-up lens on the front of your regular lens just like a filter, which allows you to shorten the minimum focus distance and also gives some additional magnification. The close-up lens is sort of a "poor man's" version of a macro lens. Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesAbsolutely gorgeous. This photo has a mysterious and peaceful feeling to it for me. I can almost hear the birds beginning to sing... 12 Jul 2008 4:17am lissa from New York, United Statesoops, sorry, I misread, I don't know how I missed the word "lens". sorry about that. I would try your method except I only have one lens and lens are so expensive but you did do a good job on this closeup. 12 Jul 2008 6:55pm da.mas from barcelona, SpainFantastic capture, fantastic portfolio!!! i added of my favorites ( sorry,my english is very bad)!!!
