Apart from the great light and colours, what stands out for me is the definition of the edges of the petals and the way that the highlights are on the verge of burning out, but just hold up. Excellent!

Hello Ron, the vivid thumbnail attracted me to this most exquisite bloom. This image has beautiful depth of color, and the contrasting highlights are well within the parameters, absolutely no question of burn out at all. Your composure is elegant and pleasing to the eye.

@Lia: This is a peony ... very common mid- to late-spring blooming plant native to Asia (I believe). This variety grows on a bush about 24 inches tall and usually there are many blooms open at the same time. Thanks for your visit!
