@Rhys: I shot this one and yesterday's in front of a piece of black foam-core poster board, sitting on a table in front of a north facing window.

Exquisite example of the iris. It's hard to choose which one I prefer. I think it's the purple one catching the light.

Your black serie is fabulous!! I like them very much. Was the light condition like this or did you post process the black point with Photoshop or equal? Your Wys PS. 200 spams a day - I HATE it, I can tell you... never thought that could be such a problem.... perhaps Id have to disable comments for a while...........

Iris is one my favorite flower I must say... here theirs colours are revealed by this black background. Well done ! And there's nice collection of great pictures in your portfolio... I'll be back.. :-)

I used to have some of this smaller hybrid variety in a blue. Your lovely image made me a little homesick for them. I particularly like the yellow one. So nice and your photo is exceptional.

Ahhhhh! The delicate "ayame"! They are so beautiful that you feel the need to take a pencil and draw them...even though you might have no talent for it! The urge is there!
