Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaHow true, I like that. A very nice conceptual picture Ron. 8 May 2008 5:32am Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Hong KongAll those good traits, most of which elude me completely. Only a dream! 8 May 2008 5:35am Mandy from Johannesburg, South AfricaI really like this image Ron it is so simple but is so powerful...I like the bit of grain coming through too adds a whole new element to it! 8 May 2008 6:44am Observing from Chester, United KingdomVery powerful image and beautifully photographed. Wisdom comes with age..... so they say ? 8 May 2008 7:46am António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalWisdom is what was needed to make this image (knowledge, understanding, patience, ...). 8 May 2008 10:52am Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesGreat capture. I like the treatment. 8 May 2008 1:44pm Marcie from United StatesI like this - both the message..and the image itself. There's both a softness and solidity to it. 8 May 2008 2:42pm Sarah [ cupcake] from Statesville, United StatesVery mysterious. The shadowing is amazing. I love the strength of this picture, so simple and elegant. 8 May 2008 4:04pm Blur69 from Kyoto, JapanWow what an amazing image. I love the texture and the shadows which work so well to convey the idea that the acquisition of wisdom comes over time--wisdom is when intelligence meets experience. This photo makes me think of aged wine and the composition conveys a bit of mystery--which I love. Also, when I think of wisdom I think about the heightened ability to be intuitive. Some say that intuition grows out of the soul and the shadows capture this quality for me. Wonderful wonderful piece. 8 May 2008 5:22pm @danthro: If you mean the bottle (with the words etched on it), I gave it to a colleague of mine on the occasion of his ordination. There's an artist here in St. Louis who makes these out of old wine bottles. I was looking for things around the church (which is where I work) the other day that I could photograph and I remembered this bottle that was sitting in his office. I placed it on a window sill in the sanctuary because I like the texture of the wood and the quality of light I get when I photograph in that location. yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecegreat work - lovely framing and tone selection 8 May 2008 5:48pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomI agree with much of what has been said but I do like the treatment given to the image . . it looks kinda 'stolen' . . secret knowledge. 8 May 2008 5:58pm @Ronnie 2¢: Not so secret ... I downloaded a "holga" action off the Adobe Studio Exchange ... I liked the overall effect, but I decided to go with the brown tone instead of the black ... Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaGreat shot and marvelous post processing 8 May 2008 8:40pm Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesLove it, Ron... and obviously I've thrown in too much skepticism again.. 8 May 2008 9:05pm MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomA very powerful shot Ron, I love the sepia treatment.
