This twice-life-size sculpture, which commemorates the centennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, sits below the Eades Bridge along the Mississippi River in St. Louis. The sculpture includes "Seaman," Lewis' large black Newfoundland dog. It is normally not submerged in river water, but with all our spring rains it has taken on new meaning.

Ron, this is such an awesome shot. You couldn't have picked a better time of day to snap this picture. Even though the images aren't supposed to be submerged it sure makes for a meaningful picture. I just love it.

Great capture of the swollen river. Love the glint of light from the sun shining through the understructure and the shimmer in the water.

Wonderful shot - the lighting and textures are great and you certainly captured an odd moment for this statue!! Lucky you! Very well done - the kind of shot you don't come across every day...
Beautiful colors and dramatic picture with the water going up. I like your framing with the bridge.

They should consider keeping it in water. It adds so much. First of all, great light. The composition is so good. I love it.

Great capture! The colors are beautiful...I like the sun flare...but seeing them half submerged in the water really gives you a sense of their journey.
