MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomThe look say's it all, I think she is thinking, that you would make a great snack lol. The markings on her face and front legs are wonderful and just look at the size of her paws!, Brilliantly captured Ron. 16 Apr 2008 8:00am Vikram from Chandler, United StatesKitty, kitty?? I assume she found other food. 16 Apr 2008 11:40am Alun Lambert from Cheshire, United KingdomShe looks as if she's got an eye on you. great image 16 Apr 2008 1:02pm Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaHum...oh yeah, move slowly away...lol I don't know how you took this, but it's exquisite ;) 16 Apr 2008 2:02pm @Lorraine: Actually, Lorraine, I wish I could say that I shot the lion and lioness on a safari in Africa, but, the truth is these images were shot at the St. Louis Zoo – one of the great zoological parks in the world (even if I do say so myself!). She very definitely had her eye on me in a somewhat protective posture as I was focusing my attention on her mate (yesterday's shot). I'm certainly not a big fan of caging animals so that humans can oggle them from outside of cages. But I have to say that the St. Louis Zoo does an exemplary job of attempting to minimize the caged nature of displays. The lion habitat is quite large with no cage or bars separating them from visitors to the park. The Saint Louis Zoo participates in the Species Survival Plan® (SSP) for lions. This is a cooperative breeding program, with a number of zoos working together to ensure the survival of the species. Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesThe size of her paws are impressive. They are beautiful creatures. Great capture! 16 Apr 2008 2:38pm Rajesh Dhankhar from delhi, Indiait seems that he is having a eye chat with you....great 16 Apr 2008 4:53pm Emilio Garcia from Pleasanton, United StatesIt does look as if you just came around the path and found her. The spontaneity of the shot is what makes it a great shot. Congratulations. Hurray for the St. Louis Zoo. 16 Apr 2008 5:18pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaFantastic shot, you caught the moment perfectly (as she eyes you out for lunch) 16 Apr 2008 8:01pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesGreat shot! Zoos have sure come a long way since the concrete and bars look of my childhood. Compared to the luxury resort this one has, those poor animals of yester-year's zoos did not have such a great life in captivity. 17 Apr 2008 12:16am danthro from Suburbia, United Stateslove this shot! great composition, framing, detail, light. a little unnerving having it look at me like that, especially with your title... ;) 17 Apr 2008 1:28am Elisa from Massachusetts, United Statesgreat composition!!
