Disoriented from Washington, DC, United StatesThis is cool! I love shooting after rainfall when the ground is still damp. It creates a certain glow from the lights and it shows here. I also noticed that it's the only three story building on the block and two of the lamplights are out. 28 Mar 2008 5:51am Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaI love the gentle mood of this photo with the shimmer on the street and that restaurant looks like a smart place to eat. Pun intended! 28 Mar 2008 7:01am Hans from Heiligeneich, Austriagreat szene, love the reflections and the mood aof this pic 28 Mar 2008 7:29am Vikram from Mesa, United StatesSuperb!!! The wet pavement gives a great reflective glow to the lighting. 28 Mar 2008 11:22am Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomNow, I need try not to remember this by way of Michael’s, clever words there!! But it is a great shot and I’m wondering why we don’t all try take more like it. 28 Mar 2008 3:03pm dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaAnother great shot! What are you doing up at that time of the morning!? Changing the subject, I must be doing something wrong with my night/early morning photos - I just never get that sort of exposure with the settings you have used - so here we go, back to the drawing board! 28 Mar 2008 3:10pm @dobbino: Unfortunately (or fortunately - if you're an optimist) I don't sleep much ... I'm awake most mornings by about 3:30 a.m. Fortunately for me, I do love the peace and quiet of that time of day and I'm able to get my best work done then. Regarding the exposure: I did add some fill light to this exposure in Photoshop Camera Raw. yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greeceperfectly captured nocturnal - excellent reflections 28 Mar 2008 4:46pm Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesGreat looking building...nice capture of the glow on the pavement from the lights...great job! 28 Mar 2008 5:56pm AnidaK from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovinavery nice and calm photo, good composition 28 Mar 2008 7:31pm danthro from Suburbia, United Statesawesome night shot! love how you captured the light and reflections. well done. funny name for a store 'einstein bagels'--never heard of that before. 28 Mar 2008 7:55pm Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaAwesome nightshot! I had a good Einstein comment but . . . 29 Mar 2008 3:22am GJC from Kyoto, JapanI agree with everyone else, but as a loyal fan of your blog, let me also say that I think this is one of your best images. Really beautiful light and feeling, and the composition is excellent. Reminds me of a Hopper painting. 29 Mar 2008 11:22am Wysterior from Kloten, SwitzerlandI love these kind of "corner" shots.
