Amazing markings on that gravestone signifying I think 1827 days of life. Or have you added that? In any case, your composition is excellent and the image thought provoking!

Well done. If you had chosen an Arial font, I doubt if anyone would have readily figure out you added the text on the tombstone.

A very powerful and moving photo (not to mention the article you linked to). Very substantive. the 1827 is for the number of days the war has gone on (5 years today), yes? Great way to remember the meaning of this occasion.
