This sculpture of Deidre (and her younger sister Maura – see both here) depict the two girls running – bare footed – across the lawn of the Missouri Botanical Garden. The beautiful bronze sculpture is the work of St. Louis-based artist Don F. Wiegand. It was commissioned by Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Donnelly when the girls were 9 and 12. The girls are now in their mid-twenties.
Imagine visiting this beautiful, lush urban garden and seeing a sculpture of yourself as a youngster amidst all the natural beauty.
Being the introver I am, It would freak me out....it's a great sculpture though, I enjoyed the compo and the story :)

A beautiful sculpture, I love the side profile and the way the light almost brings to life the flowing hair.
